1st place Geeks 7/12/10

We got first place this week! We named our team 667: The Neighbor of the Beast. Beat the second place team by 4 points! I had a cute smile on my face till the second he took the pic when I licked my lips so I look awesome...
Jake won't be there next Monday so lets see how Me, Chris and Wendy do without him. I have a feeling Chris is going to carry the team LOL.

Geeks Who Drink 7/5/10

Third again...Bummer. We were without Chris so maybe we could have done better. Poor Jake was pretty much on his own LOL. Yes I'm still useless. I did not sing Karaoke though I wanted to. They were really busy and I didn't want to wait all night to sing. I did get to see Jake sing again and also I saw Marcus from Last Comic Standing sing. He was pretty good. Kind of surprised. All was super fun even with the loss haha!

End of Kickball Season and the Fourth

So the kick ball season ended last week for Ballsagna. Second week of the play offs and we lost to Blowies in the P Lot! So lame. They say it was their best game that they've played. I'm pretty sure it was our worst game that we've played. Pretty bummed about it but the new season starts in just a few weeks so I'll only miss out for a little while LOL.

Had a great Fourth of July weekend. Started off Friday with a trip to Park City with Jake. We decided to take the long route up Big Cottonwood Canyon. We stopped in Solitude and it was 20 degrees colder there then in the city. I had only a tiny dress on and wasn't really expecting that but it was really nice and I'm sure I would have thoroughly enjoyed it had I had on some jeans and a jacket. This is what it looked like up there:
After Solitude we made out way to Park City. The directions we had were pretty much useless so we winged it and actually made it without getting lost once.

Park City had really great weather. It was perfect. We wondered around, looked at galleries, shopped, ate some food while we listened to a band, and then had a competitive game of Battleship. I lost of course... Jake rubbed it in by sending me this:

Here are some pictures of a moose:
We ended the night with a get together Jake and HGB's friends where I proceeded to get very drunk LOL.
Saturday the 3rd was great also. I hung out with Kristen and friends and we watched some fireworks. Not a lot to say about it other then that and I forgot to take pics so nothing interesting to report really.
Sunday I watched Jake play darts and he talked me into singing Karaoke. Man am I terrible. I've gained an appreciation of karaoke. It definitely pushes you out of your comfort zone.
Saw Avatar: The Last Airbender today. Nothing really to report their either haha.
So over all a pretty busy and pretty great weekend. This week is going to be just as busy. I'll try to take lots of pics ;)

Sort of Embarrassing

Last night, my wonderful friend Kristen talked me into going to a Twilight event over at Fairmont Park. It was very funny, like another world. They had prizes and even had a couple of the actors show up. I was lucky enough to end up with an Eclipse poster, pen, and pin. I also walked away with Vampire Venom! hahahahaha! So completely silly. Here are some pics. The girl actor is Julia Jones, who plays Leah. They guy is Charlie Bewley who plays Demetri. He's super hot and the girls were all screaming LOL

Here is Kristen and her friends with the love triangle

Update: Spring/Summer 2010

It's been a long time since I wrote on my blog. I've been thinking about it a lot and would like to start writing regularly. My last post was a very long time ago and since then things have changed quite a bit.

So in November Matt and I broke up. It was terrible and I was heart broken. I even went to a therapist. What I learned from therapy is that break ups suck. You greave the same way you do a death. Then you move on. That's pretty much what happened. I've moved on now. I'll love him forever but I don't think I'll feel romantic love for him ever again.

So here I am back in the dating world. Dating sucks. I've done a pretty good job at hiding how much it sucks and how much I get hurt to everyone but Kristen. Sorry Kristen that you have to hear all my sob stories. I mean dating definately has it's benefits. I guess I have a love/hate relationship with dating LOL.

A great thing that happened this spring is that my brother Kevin came to visit with his family. I love them all and I'm so happy they're here. Kevin went home after a week but his wife Trish stayed here with the girls and are still here! They're going home in a couple weeks but I'm really glad to spend some time with them.

I'm trying to fill my time with as many activities as possible. The most fun activity I've enjoyed lately is KICKBALL! I've had so much fun playing and my team (Ballsagna) is awesome. right now we're in the playoffs. Our next game is on Wednesday. We're gonna kick some butt against those Blowies in the P Lot! GO PINK!

Another fun activity that I've just discovered is Geeks Who Drink trivia with my friend Jake (pictured above poking me in the head). I'm really not any good at it but it's a lot of fun.

So there's the quick and dirty update. I'm going to try to put updates up more regularly. The rest of the summer is going to be great!

State Fair

So I went to the Utah State Fair a couple weeks ago. It was pretty standard fair stuff- rides and fatty food. I went early in the day with my friend Kristen and her son Carter. The first thing we did was eat. I had an awesome corn on the cob and a deep fried Twinkie! We walked around and looked at the animals and other exhibits.
Here is Carter with the tigers.

Here is Kristen and Carter with the goats.

Then came the best part of the fair!! We went to the Freak Show!

Chupacabra!!!

Six legged Cow!

Mermaids!

Two headed babies!!!

If you want to see more Freak Show pics, I will post them on my myspace page

Later in the day, I came back to the fair with Matt. We rode on a couple rides that were really fun but being that I had only eaten a corn on the cob and a deep fried Twinkie that day, I didn't feel so hot after the ride. Other than that I had a pretty good day at the fair.

**On a completely different note...I just wanted to post a quick warning on the dangers of Ding Dong wrappers. Unless you eat Ding Dongs on a regular basis you are probably as unaware as I was that they are wrapped in foil, not plastic. I little while back I was eating a Ding Dong and had only unwrapped it half way because I only had one hand free. It was kind of warm in my apartment and so the chocolate on the outside was beginning to melt and the Ding Dong slipped out of the wrapper and rolled down the front of my white shirt. In the process of trying to stop it from falling down my shirt, I tried to catch it with my mouth but it still fell out. I sat there for a moment, annoyed with the chocolate on my shirt, and thought that my lip felt kind of funny. Sure enough, the foil had cut my lip! And I was bleeding! I wish I had taken a picture to show my damaged lip but unfortunately I had not. So the moral of this story is NEVER LEAVE DING DONG'S IN THE WRAPPER WHILE YOU EAT THEM! hahaha! Man I felt like such a dumb ass.

UMFA

Matt and I went to the Utah Museum of Fine Arts on Saturday. They have a special exibit right now that has artist like Monet, Picasso, Dali, ect. I was really excited to see Monet and Dali but it turns out that a painting by van Gogh was my favorite. It is called The Poplars at Saint-Remy. I got half way through the exibit and had to go back and see it again. I've seen tons of van Gogh paintings on prints and in books but you can't imagine how much you miss when you don't see it in person. The texture and emotion of the paintings (there were only two from van Gogh) was just amazing. Here is a pic of the program. On the front is The Poplars at Saint-Remy.

I wish we had stuff like this around here more often.
